Ser, everyone is typing "binance" into a search bar right now, and not because they want to buy the dip. As we reported, the crowd mostly blamed Binance's own locks for the hack. This piece is about something else: a fresh Morfi opinion market asking which crypto treats an "agent" as a first-class identity. It opened less than a day ago, and "AUS (Autonomous" leads with 28% consensus. The runner-up, at 18%, is "Binance agent id", the side carrying the name of the exchange in the news.
Look at the holder counts. The leader has 9 holders and the runner-up has 8, and 12 unique traders have put $23,579 behind their views so far. Also on the ballot: 4 other sides. That's small money and a young market, so treat this as an early lead, not a verdict. Still, it's a funny sight: people are searching "binance" right now, and the side with Binance's name on it is in second place.
- AUS (Autonomous28%
- Binance agent id 18%
- OpenAI Agents14%
- Olas (Agent Layer)14%
- CrewAI Agents13%
- ElizaOS13%
Here's how it has moved. When the chart starts (Oct 31), "AUS (Autonomous" stood at 17% and "Binance agent id" at 17%. Since then the leader has ranged from 15% to 28%, and the lead between the top two has changed hands 3 times. The best detail is one trader, gwei guy, who shows up on both sides of the leader. Selling, he calls it "this is the path of least resistance." Buying, he writes "boring mispricing because nobodys looking. perfect". That's the most degen hedge I've seen all week.
- AUS (Autonomous 28.2%
- Binance agent id 17.6%
- OpenAI Agents 13.9%
- Olas (Agent Layer) 14%
Now for the news behind the searches. Cointelegraph reports the record hack has an estimated impact of around $6.3 billion, with about $3 billion frozen. Analysts suspect North Korea's TraderTraitor group. Binance says it has set aside more than $6.34 billion to cover losses, and co-CEO Richard Teng says the exchange aims to resume withdrawals within 40 hours. CoinDesk adds that the 18,270 BTC stolen is more than twice El Salvador's reserve. To be clear, none of that reporting mentions AI agents or this market, so I can't tell you the hack is what's dragging Binance's agent camp down.
My take, which is opinion and not financial advice: when your exchange is trending because of a security incident, it's a hard week to sell anyone on a shiny "agent identity" brand. An "Autonomous" label that nobody has had time to doubt yet wins by default. Further back, jordan is backing ElizaOS, another side on the ballot.
What could change this? Withdrawals actually restarting and a clean proof-of-reserves report from Binance could bring its agent camp back. A few more serious wallets could also swamp a market this young in one afternoon. If you think gwei guy is right about the mispricing, or right about the path of least resistance (he's covered either way), join the market on Morfi and pick your side.
