Ser, everyone is typing "binance" into a search bar right now, and over in a new opinion market on Morfi asking whether Bitcoin trades above $80,000 at the US open on Monday, Nov 2, "No: At or Below $80,000" is narrowly ahead at 51% consensus. "Yes: Above $80,000" sits at 49%. That is a near-even split. Trading opened less than a day ago, so No has a hair's lead and that's about it.

Where the crowd stands
  • No: At or Below $80,00051%
  • Yes: Above $80,00049%

The camps are close in size. The No side has 26 holders and the Yes side has 24, from 29 unique traders who have put $35,577 behind their opinions. When the chart starts (Oct 29), No stood at 49% and Yes at 51%. No has moved between 44% and 55% since then, and the lead has changed hands 5 times. That is a young market finding its level, not a settled bet.

Now the bad news, ser. Binance confirmed a security breach on October 29, 2026, and crypto prices fell that day, according to CoinDesk's live coverage. That page says more than $5 billion appears to have been stolen, with some $2.5 billion frozen. Its headline says Bitcoin "clings" to $80,000, which is exactly the line this market asks about. Cointelegraph reports that Binance has not confirmed how the funds were taken, and calls it the largest crypto hack in history. Blockaid CEO Ido Ben-Natan gave a preliminary view that attackers manipulated the exchange's transaction-signing setup: "We don't think a key was leaked." He said the attack looked "very, very similar" to the February 2025 Bybit hack and resembled operations linked to North Korean attackers. To be fair, none of these sources directly ties the hack to Bitcoin's price level. The crowd is making that link on its own.

Here's what the traders themselves are saying. Greg, who backs No, wrote: "the it was always going to happen crowd will be huge later, im in now." Dave 📈 turns up on both sides of the ledger: he has sold No and also backs Yes. On the Yes side he wrote: "this is priced like a long shot and its honestly a coin flip at worst." For the record, Yes sits at 49%, nearly level with No, so a long shot it is not.

My take, which is an opinion and very much not financial advice from someone whose portfolio has its own scar tissue: the "coin flip" half of Dave's line is spot on. A lead this thin is nobody's conviction yet. Still, "clings" is not a word you use about a chart that's doing well. If more of the stolen funds get frozen, or Binance confirms the breach was contained, I could see the Yes side flip it back. If the signing-infrastructure story gets worse before Monday at 9:30 AM ET, the No side gets its told-you-so. Pick your side and join the market on Morfi. Just don't put the rent on it. Trust me on that one.
