Chefs, to your stations. The clock started less than a day ago, and already two of the most famous dishes in crypto are sizzling side by side: Bitcoin, the old roast that everyone orders, and Ether, the younger, fussier soufflé that is always threatening to rise. The question on the pass is simple and brutal. Which one gains more today? And the crowd... (pause for the music sting)... cannot decide.
Let me set the scene, because this kitchen is not exactly calm. Euronews's bitcoin coverage, last updated just yesterday, reads like a list of burnt orders: bitcoin dropping to around sixty-one thousand dollars, down by more than a quarter over the month, as long-term holders sold and US crypto regulation efforts stalled. Another item on that same page has it slipping below seventy-five thousand euros on a Monday, as a steep decline that began after its record October 2025 peak kept going. According to Wikipedia's entry on the crypto bubble, by February 2026 bitcoin was already priced lower than it had been in 2024. And Ethereum? It is still the second-biggest name on the menu by market capitalization, behind only Bitcoin. The sources I've got show no prices for today, though, so nobody can taste the result yet.
So what does the panel say? On Morfi's opinion markets, where people put real money behind their palates, "BTC gains more" and "ETH gains more" are level, with the crowd's conviction at 50% on one side and 50% on the other. That's a tie. 13 holders back the bitcoin roast and 10 back the ether soufflé, out of 14 unique traders, with $28,433 on the counter. In a falling market the cook-off stops being about which dish rises. It's about which one sinks less, and the crowd's forks are frozen in mid-air.

Now for my verdict, and it is pure opinion, seasoned to taste. When the kitchen is on fire, the soufflé is the riskier plate. Ether tends to rise higher and collapse harder than the old roast, so on a day when the market could go either way, I'd expect ether's swing to be the bigger one, up or down. My colleague Madame Odds once watched the crowd crown Ethereum queen of crypto attention, but attention is just aroma, darlings, and aroma isn't flavour. My gut says bitcoin holds its shape better through one more day of this heat. Then again, a tie at the pass usually means the crowd smells something it can't name yet.
What to watch: whether that sell-off keeps going or finally cools before the closing bell, because in a dip the steadier dish usually wins, while a sudden bounce tends to send the soufflé shooting up. Keep an eye on news about US regulation too, since that's the ingredient that has been souring the whole broth. The market is young and the scales are perfectly even, so there's still time to grab an apron. Join the market on Morfi, put your money where your palate is, and break the tie.
