Gather close, seekers, and keep your seed phrases away from the candle. Madame Odds has turned over two cards tonight. The first shows an orange fox curled inside a browser window, grinning like it owns the internet. The second shows a feeling: the hot, sweaty, refresh-the-chart urge every degen knows as fear of missing out. The question in front of the orb is which crypto wallet approach wins, Fomo or MetaMask, and the crowd started picking sides before the incense had even caught.

First, what we can see in the smoke. According to Wikipedia's entry on MetaMask, the wallet comes from ConsenSys and lets people manage Ethereum accounts and reach decentralised apps through a browser extension or a mobile app. It started in 2016 as open-source software under an MIT licence, first as an extension for Chrome and Firefox, and it reportedly passed more than a hundred million users worldwide by early 2026. It hasn't been an easy ride. A February 2026 letter to the SEC from advocacy groups describes non-custodial wallets as tools that let users hold their own private keys, and it cites the regulator's allegations against ConsenSys over MetaMask.

The Fomo side is where the crystal clouds over. Our researchers found no clear record of a specific wallet product called Fomo, so the orb can only read it through what the word means in crypto. That meaning is not comforting. Wikipedia's page on meme coins notes that new buyers driven by fear of missing out can push prices up fast, and sharp collapses often follow.

Where the crowd stands

So you'd expect the famous fox to walk this. The cards say otherwise. On Morfi's opinion markets, "Fomo wallet" leads with 54% consensus across 11 holders, and "MetaMask wallet" trails at 46% with 10 holders. So far 14 traders have put $23,754 behind their opinions. Keep in mind that these are conviction levels, not headcounts, and that trading has been open for less than a day. The orb sees a strong mood, not a final verdict.

The fox stares into the ball and sees, of all things, a vibe beating it.

Here is my own reading, and it is only an opinion. I think the crowd isn't voting for a product at all. It's voting for a feeling, the rush of something fast, social and a bit reckless, against the old browser-tab ritual of connect, approve, sign, pray. That's romantic, and the spirits love romance. But the same spirits remember how often fear-of-missing-out stories end, and it's usually with a candle burned down to the saucer. Betting on a wallet nobody can point to, over one with a decade of history and a hundred-million-strong congregation, takes real nerve. Either the crowd sees a future I can't, or it's FOMO about FOMO.

What to watch: whether the fox's loyal users show up as the market matures, whether a real "Fomo-style" product steps out of the mist and gives that side a face, and whether the regulatory clouds around ConsenSys shift the mood. The orb is still swirling, and you don't have to just watch it. Join the market on Morfi, back your opinion, and see who's right when the fear fades.
