Gather close, seekers, and mind the incense. Three titans sit before my crystal ball, Elon Musk, Changpeng Zhao and Vitalik Buterin, and the crowd has asked the cruelest question in the deck: which of them is most likely to face bankruptcy or extreme restructuring? The smoke has cleared, and the Tower card, the one with lightning and people falling out of windows, has landed in front of Elon.
The spirits did not choose him at random. NPR reported that Musk paid for his roughly forty-four billion dollar takeover of Twitter partly with about thirteen billion in borrowed bank money, at a price analysts widely considered too high. About two weeks after the deal closed, France 24 reports, Musk told staff he could not rule out bankruptcy, with interest payments of close to one point two billion due over the following year. He has walked this road before: SpaceX's first three launch attempts failed and pushed the company close to insolvency before an orbital success in 2008 and a NASA contract rescued it. CZ has his own baggage. He stepped down as Binance chief in 2023, served four months in prison in 2024 and was pardoned by President Trump in October 2025. Our researchers turned up nothing at all on Buterin or Ethereum, so the cards say nothing about him either way.

Now the orb glows with numbers. On Morfi's opinion markets, "Elon" leads with 43% consensus, with "Vitalik" behind at 29%, and 1 other side also on the ballot. That is the crowd's conviction, not a headcount, coming from 30 traders who have put $100,613 behind their visions in a market less than a day old. The odd part is Vitalik in second place. The brief has no scandal on him at all, so the crowd is either reading omens I can't see or just nervous about anyone whose fortune rides on crypto prices.
Here is my reading, and it is only opinion, dear ones: the crowd is betting on the story more than on any balance sheet. Elon is the one who says the word bankruptcy out loud, and crowds love a man who flirts with the abyss in public. But the same history the crowd is betting on also shows how often he gets away with it. SpaceX was at the edge and came back. Twitter was declared doomed and is still loudly with us. The Tower card is about upheaval, not necessarily ruin, and I suspect the bettors have mixed up a man who lives on the edge with a man about to go over it.
What to watch next: debt headlines around X and xAI, any regulatory thunderclap over Binance, and whether a single crypto crash pulls Vitalik up the ranks. With trading barely a day old, the cards can still be reshuffled. Bring your own crystal ball and join the market on Morfi, where your guess costs you real money.
