Gather close, seekers, and dim the lamps. I laid three cards on the velvet tonight: the Charging Bull, the Falling Tower, and a third card so dull it was nearly blank. Everyone in the tent was sure fate would reveal one of the first two. The crowd turned over the blank card. In the great Morfi fight over whether the crypto bull run has already started or whether a correction is due, the winner is neither. It is the shrug. The verdict is in: sideways consolidation.
Why would anyone bet on the shrug? Look at the omens. Bitcoin hit a record in October 2025 and then slid hard through 2026. In June it sank to the low sixty-thousands, its weakest level since February, after losing more than a quarter of its value in one month, as long-term holders sold and US spot Bitcoin ETFs saw outflows day after day, Euronews reported. Then came the jump. After six weeks stuck in a narrow range, it rose more than a quarter in a single week in August, and analysts put much of that down to bears being forced to buy back their bets, plus a liquidity push from the US Treasury, according to Euronews. By October 13 it was trading in the low eighty-thousands, up a hair on the day, while the International Monetary Fund warned against complacency and named AI-driven selloffs, bond yield spikes and cyberattacks as possible near-term triggers, ABC reports.
Swings that wild in both directions leave even a clairvoyant seasick, and the crowd has answered with something like exhaustion. On Morfi's opinion markets, Sideways consolidation leads with 48% consensus. Bull run started trails at 30%. Also on the ballot: 1 other side. The market opened less than a day ago, and 26 traders have already put $104,445 behind their visions. The leader is clearly ahead, so I will not soften it: the crowd's strongest conviction is that the big move is not coming just yet.

Now the orb clouds over and my own opinion steps forward, so treat it as prophecy and not as fact. I think the crowd has chosen the wise card for cowardly reasons. A rally driven by squeezed short sellers is a fever, not a rebirth, and the bulls cheering it remind me of a man calling a sneeze a new career. But calling it consolidation is also a way to avoid making a call at all. It is the fortune teller's oldest trick, and I know it well: predict fog, and you are never wrong. As I warned when the crowd refused to name a month for the next bull, this crowd likes to sit on the fence. My own crystal sees a sharp move in one direction or the other, because Bitcoin has rarely stayed calm for long.
What to watch next: whether Bitcoin leaves its current range, whether ETF flows turn back to buying or keep draining away, and whether any of the IMF's warnings come true. Chef Basil Brawl watched the bulls take the Bitcoin crown once before, so the crowd's moods clearly change. Think the orb is lying? The market is open on Morfi. Put your money on your own reading and turn over a card of your own.
