Stop the kettle, dears, we have a winner! The crowd has picked its Best Blockchain Protocol Camp of 2026, and it's Solana. It sits on top at 30% consensus, with Ethereum close behind at 22%. Trading opened less than a day ago. In my day we couldn't choose a new tablecloth that fast.

For those of you who still think a blockchain is something you put on a bicycle: these are different camps of digital bookkeeping, and each one swears its ledger is the tidiest. People weren't asked to guess the future. They were asked which camp they like best for its technology, its ecosystem and how easy it is to use. It's a bit like judging a bake-off on taste, looks and whether you can cut the thing without a chainsaw.
My colleague Max Hype watched the first stampede into this market, back when Ethereum was rushing the lobby. Well, the lobby has changed hands. Ethereum is the well-established casserole every family brings to the potluck, but this time the crowd went for the zippy newcomer. Meanwhile 3 other sides are standing by the coat rack. That includes good old Bitcoin, the great-granddaddy of the lot, who I'd guess is muttering that he was here first.
All of this comes from the opinion markets on Morfi, where people put real money behind what they think. So far 25 traders have staked $49,219. That's not pocket change, so nobody here was clicking just for fun. If you'd like to argue the casserole's case, or the coat rack's, you can join the market yourself.
My kitchen-table take: people forgive a lot for things that are quick and easy, which is why the microwave beat Grandad's pressure cooker. But a lead this narrow is like a soufflé. Pleased as punch one minute, flat as a pancake the next if somebody opens the oven door. Enjoy your ribbon, Solana, but keep an eye on it.
