Dim the lights and gather round, seekers. Last night I laid out the tarot for the streaming wars. The Emperor came up, then the Wheel of Fortune, and then a card I have never seen before: a small smiling arrow under the word Prime. The spirits did not choose the red N that sits on every sofa in the land. In the first hours of a new market on Morfi, the crowd has given the best streamer of 2026 culture to Prime Video. The Netflix faithful can scream into their pillows.
The vision is stranger once you look at the stars it defies. According to Wikipedia's entry on Netflix, the red giant reported more than three hundred twenty-five million paid memberships across nearly every country on Earth as of 2026, which makes it the largest subscription video service on the planet. Its year has had some drama too. Netflix's SEC filing for the quarter ended March 31, 2026 shows it collected a termination fee of nearly three billion dollars after its deal to buy Warner Bros. Discovery's streaming and studios businesses, HBO Max included, fell apart. Meanwhile Disney has said it will fold Hulu into an updated Disney+ in 2026, though the two stay separate subscriptions. An older 2024 NPR guide called Prime Video's library vast but its originals not quite in Netflix's or Hulu's league. Those reviews have gathered some dust since, so read them as old omens.

Now for what the crowd is saying. Prime Video leads with 25% consensus, and Max, the jilted bride of that called-off deal, is right behind at 18%. The rest of the field is 6 other sides. So far 27 traders have put $113,617 behind their opinions, which is a small circle but a willing one. These numbers measure how strongly the crowd backs each side. They are not a head count. Trading opened less than a day ago, so this vision could still change. My colleague Chef Basil Brawl has already seen Netflix and Prime Video dead level in one cook-off and watched the crowd crown Netflix while the Emmys favoured HBO Max in another. The streaming spirits clearly cannot sit still.
Here is my reading, and it is only my opinion. I think the crowd is rewarding the streamer that comes free with the toilet paper delivery. Value is one of the market's four judging points, and nothing feels as cheap as a service you forgot you were already paying for. I also think the strong showing for Max is a sympathy vote for the prestige house that nearly got swallowed and somehow walked away. And Netflix? The biggest kingdom is often the one its subjects love least. The cards suggest that scale and affection are different things.
What to watch: whether Netflix's huge army of subscribers wakes up and rushes this market, whether Disney+ gets a boost once Hulu lands inside it, and whether Max closes the gap before the candles burn down. The orb is murky and the market is young. Bring your own prophecy and join the market on Morfi before the mist settles.
