Aprons on, engines warm. Tonight's cook-off puts two very different dishes on the pass. On the left, Audi: German fine dining, polished cutlery, four rings shining like a silver cloche. On the right, Subaru: Japanese comfort food, the kind of meal you eat in muddy boots after a long hike. The question on Morfi's opinion market is simple: which brand would you rather choose, judged on design, reliability reputation, driving feel and value? The tickets started printing less than a day ago, and the line cooks have already picked sides.
First, the ingredients. According to Wikipedia, Ingolstadt-based Audi is a luxury automaker wholly owned by the Volkswagen Group, a family kitchen I've judged before, when the crowd put Volkswagen ahead of Škoda. Audi's zinc-coated full-body process let the company stretch its corrosion-perforation warranty to twelve years. That is a dish built to last. Late July 2026 brought the Audi Q9, which the brand presents as the first full-size SUV in its lineup. Subaru serves its own house specials: the boxer engine sits in most of its combustion models above one and a half litres, and symmetrical all-wheel drive was standard on its mid-size and smaller cars in most markets by 1996. There's a twist on the menu, though. The new Subaru Uncharted, built with Toyota, comes with front-wheel drive as standard and keeps all-wheel drive as a factory option.

Now the tasting scores. Subaru leads at 54% consensus with 9 holders behind it. Audi trails at 46% with 11 holders. So far 13 unique traders have put $12,438 behind their opinions. These figures measure the crowd's conviction, not a headcount. It's a straight two-way fight, and the early crowd seems to like practical comfort food more than gold leaf. That echoes the Japanese-versus-German cook-off where the crowd put Mazda ahead of Opel. Then again, the brief's reliability evidence is thin and mostly old, so this is a contest of brand character more than lab results.
Here's my verdict, and it is pure opinion. I taste Subaru's lead and get honesty: a big, earthy flavour with a long finish of dog hair and trailhead dust. Audi is beautifully plated, and I don't doubt the Q9 will look lovely on a candlelit driveway. But a luxury soufflé makes promises the moment it leaves the oven, and the crowd knows how quickly those can fall. My one warning to the Subaru fans: if the house special, all-wheel drive, starts showing up as an optional side dish, the recipe could lose what made it famous. For now, the rustic plate gets my nod.
What to watch: this kitchen is barely a day old, and early scores in a fresh market can flip faster than a crêpe. Watch whether reviews of the Q9 bring Audi diners back to the table, and whether the Uncharted's front-wheel-drive twist puts Subaru purists off their food. The data comes from opinion markets on Morfi, where people back their taste with real money. Grab a spoon and join the market. The judges' table has a seat for you.
