The verdict is in, and it is the one your uncle predicted at Thanksgiving. On the Morfi opinion market asking which crypto dominates long-term, Bitcoin closes the session on top at 57% consensus. The ledger that does one thing has once again beaten the ledgers that do everything, which some will call wisdom and others will call inertia.

Ethereum takes second at 24% consensus, a respectable result for an asset whose entire pitch is that it is more useful. Also on the ballot: 1 other side. The diplomatic option exists, as it always does, for those who prefer to hedge their opinions as carefully as their portfolios.
The bull case for the winner is the familiar store of value argument: scarce, simple, and boring in the way that pension committees find soothing. The challenger counters with smart contracts, scaling roadmaps and an ecosystem that ships upgrades the way other industries ship apologies. The crowd, it seems, listened to both presentations and chose the one with fewer slides.
The turnout was brisk for a market less than a day old: 32 unique traders put $120,107 behind their convictions. That is not sovereign-wealth money, but it is real money, which already makes it more serious than most crypto debates conducted on social media. My colleague Max Hype called the opening bell in the fight going live, and I noted earlier that the two were locked in a mindshare standoff. Someone appears to have blinked.
These figures reflect consensus, the crowd's conviction per side, drawn from live opinion markets on Morfi, and conviction is famously subject to revision whenever a chart turns red. Readers who believe the programmable underdog deserves better, or that the answer is plainly both, can join the market and say so with their own money. It is cheaper than tattooing a logo on your forearm, and easier to exit.
