We have a winner. In the Morfi opinion market asking which gaming laptop line is most compelling today, "Acer Predator Helios/Scar" finishes on top with 56% consensus. "ASUS ROG Strix" comes second at 14%. The brief asked voters to weigh performance, thermals, display, portability and value all at once, which is roughly what every buyer tries to do while staring at a spec sheet at midnight.

First, what the numbers mean. These percentages are consensus levels, which measure how strongly the crowd backed each side with real money. They are not the share of people who voted for each laptop. By that measure Predator is clearly ahead of ROG Strix, and the rest of the ballot, 3 other sides, trails behind both.
This result reverses the early picture. My colleague Max Hype covered the opening rounds in the gaming laptop brawl, when Razer Blade had the lead and Predator was chasing it. Predator ended up winning, and the Blade, the premium thin-and-light pick, did not finish in the top two. One reading, offered strictly as my opinion: when value is one of the judging criteria, a pricier machine starts at a disadvantage.
Now the caveats, since that is my job. Trading opened less than a day ago. 14 unique traders took part and put $106,644 behind their opinions. That is enough to call it a verdict, but not enough to settle anything for good. There is also some confusion in the side names: "Scar" usually refers to the ASUS ROG Strix Scar range, yet here it sits in Acer's camp. If a few ASUS fans backed Predator by mistake, that would be an unusual kind of cross-platform play.
In plain terms, the crowd thinks Acer's Predator line gives you the best overall package right now, with ROG Strix a respectable second. If you think they got it wrong, you can join the market on Morfi and back your view with money.
