Someone says "good afternoon." You have about half a second to answer. Most of us just mumble something back, but a new opinion market on Morfi has made that half-second into an actual fight, with real money on it.
The question is simple: which reply feels the most natural, polite and likely to get a conversation going after a "good afternoon"? Right now "noon" is in front with 76% consensus and 4 holders behind it. That's punchy and short, and some would say a little cheeky.
Close behind is "after" at 13% consensus with 12 holders. The "after" crowd seems to think the clipped half-greeting carries the friendlier vibe, and they aren't backing off. Also on the ballot: 1, all waiting for a surprise comeback.
Trading opened less than a day ago, and 13 unique traders have already joined in, putting $85,985 behind their opinions. Our own unofficial guess: the "noon" fans text in lowercase, and the "after" fans think three syllables is too many. That's just our opinion, of course.
Keep in mind these numbers show how strongly the crowd backs each side. They don't count heads. The market is young, though, and the lead could change hands with every new trader who shows up.
Do you know the perfect comeback to "good afternoon"? Join the market on Morfi, pick a side and put your money where your mouth is. Good afternoon to you, by the way. Answer carefully.
