Hands off your keyboards, chefs. Step away from the order books. The plates are on the pass, the judges have tasted, and I'm about to read the verdict. (Long pause. Longer than you'd like.) The most popular crypto exchange among traders today, according to the crowd, is... OKX. Binance, the restaurant with the biggest dining room on earth, has to settle for second, and Bybit and Bitget are left wiping down their stations.

Why is that a shock? Look at the size of the kitchens. Wikipedia describes Binance as the largest cryptocurrency exchange by daily trading volume. An ESMA risk analysis of 2023 data found Binance handling trillions of dollars, roughly half the market, while the runner-up managed about a seventh of that. Forbes put Binance's global user count at well over a hundred million in 2023, its Wikipedia entry notes. That isn't a bistro. It's a cafeteria serving a whole continent.

The rest of the line has had a rough service. Wikipedia reports that Bybit was hacked in February 2025, losing about one and a half billion dollars in assets, which it calls the largest cryptocurrency theft on record. Bitget was hit in September 2026, with losses estimated in the hundreds of millions, and the analytics firm Elliptic says North Korea was highly likely behind it. A word of caution from the judges' table, though: none of these sources measures popularity directly. They tell you about scale and scandal, and this market is judging buzz, reach and brand visibility.

Where the crowd stands
  • OKX69%
  • Binance13%
  • Bybit11%
  • Bitget6%

That's where the crowd comes in. On Morfi's opinion markets, where people put real money behind what they think, OKX leads with 69% consensus and Binance follows at 13%. Also competing: 2 other sides. So far 20 unique traders have staked $1,504,918, all in less than a day of trading. Remember, those percentages measure the crowd's conviction, not a headcount. The message is still clear: the crowd split size from sizzle, and OKX got the sizzle. Regulars will remember that the last time I judged this cook-off, OKX was ahead then too, with Bybit right behind it. This time Binance has fought its way back to the second spot.

Pixel-art cooking show stage where a small spotlit station holds a golden whisk trophy in front of a giant industrial kitchen.
The smaller station took the trophy while the giant kitchen kept its fryers running.

Now my own tasting notes, and yes, this is pure opinion. I love this verdict. Popularity was never about who serves the most covers. Plenty of people eat at the motorway services, and nobody falls in love with it. In my view the crowd is rewarding the kitchen it actually wants to talk about, the one with some swagger in the seasoning, over the reliable giant everyone uses and nobody brags about. Binance may be the bread on every table. OKX, tonight, is the dish people are photographing.

What to watch next: whether OKX's lead holds once the market has been open for more than a day, whether Binance's size eventually wins over the judges, and whether Bybit or Bitget can turn their bad press into a comeback. The pass is still open. Go to Morfi, join the market and put your money behind your own verdict. Service!
