The verdict is in, at least for today. On Morfi's opinion market asking whether BTC moves up or down today, "BTC Down" leads at 60% consensus. "BTC Up" trails at 40%. Nobody has been fired over it yet, but give the afternoon time.

There were only two options, which makes this the rare financial question with fewer outcomes than opinions. 22 unique traders turned up and put $36,822 behind their convictions. That is real money spent on predicting a single day of Bitcoin, an asset famous for respecting nobody's schedule.

A point of order for anyone skimming: those percentages are consensus, meaning how strongly the crowd backs each side, not a headcount. It is a measure of conviction, which in crypto is usually plentiful and occasionally justified.

This is not the first time the doubters have moved early. The desk saw something similar when the doubters struck first in an earlier Bitcoin price fight. Whether that counts as a pattern or a personality trait, I leave to the behavioral economists.

The bull brought an umbrella. The crowd suggests he may need it.

The market opened less than a day ago, which is both its whole lifespan and its whole point. If you think the crowd has it wrong, you can join the market on Morfi and say so with your own money. Being early and being right are different things, but only one of them gets you on the leaderboard.
