In my day you had one window and you looked out of it. Now you young people argue about which window to look at the whole internet through, and somehow it gets heated. The newest squabble is a simple question: Brave or Firefox, which desktop browser do you prefer? It opened less than a day ago, and the plates are already rattling.

In one corner is Firefox, made by the folks at Mozilla. It's the old cardigan of browsers: comfy, a bit patched, and you can sew on whatever buttons you fancy. In the other corner is Brave, the young upstart that promises to shoo away the adverts and nosy trackers, a bit like a terrier at the garden gate.

Where the crowd stands

So far the fox has its nose in front. Firefox sits at 54% consensus with 13 holders, and Brave trails at 46% with 20 holders. Mind you, these numbers aren't headcounts. They're the crowd's conviction, how hard folks are leaning, from opinion markets on Morfi, where people put real money behind what they think.

Pixel-art fox in a cardigan and lion cub in a cape offering pies to a grandmother at a kitchen table.
Two pies, one grandma, and nobody's leaving until somebody picks a favourite.

So far 26 traders have pulled up a chair and put $94,298 on the table. That's a lively start for a pot that's only just gone on the stove. Speaking as someone who's burnt plenty of early dinners, though, an early lead is like a soufflé: lovely to look at, and it can fall flat the second someone opens the oven door.

Here's my kitchen wisdom: the best browser is the one that doesn't nag you, doesn't spy on you, and still opens the recipe before your onions burn. Privacy, speed, extensions, all that fiddling, it's up to you. Pop over to Morfi, join the market and back your side. Just don't fight at the table.
